# Economics Can Be Used to Help Solve Moral Questions
Take the coronavirus lockdown as an example. One can look at its [[Economic Cost]], and if it is determined to be positive, the lockdown should be enacted.
The following should be taken into account when evaluating the cost:
- The value of human life
- The cost of losing freedoms
- The loss of trade
As these are very much moral questions (especially the first one), this serves as an example of how economics can be used to help solve moral questions.
