# Generous Orthodoxy [Generous Orthodoxy](https://www.pushkin.fm/episode/generous-orthodoxy/) is a [[Revisionist History]] episode in which Gladwell tells the story of Chester Wenger, a Mennonite minister who, according the Gladwell, teaches us "a master class in dissent." After being stripped of his ministerial title for officiating his gay son's wedding, Wenger writes a most respectful, 0-vitriol, dissent letter to his church, in the hopes of reforming it. His protest is meaningful, because he actually stood something to lose.
